Christmas at the Academy

“Christmas at the Haunted Mansion” gingerbread

Elizabeth Kilgore, Outreach Editor

Continuing the string of holiday festivities at AOSE, our amazing choir led an impressed and inspired congregation at Christmas at the Academy last night.  While only composed of five voices, the ensemble filled the chapel from floor to ceiling, uplifting each audience member with the solemnity and beauty of their music.  The ensemble is led by Chorale Director Mrs. Clark.

In between songs that captured the true reason for the season (the birth of Jesus Christ, that is), Mr. Fasciana’s public speaking class did an outstanding job teaching the crowd some of the most important life lessons that we learn in the Bible and in the ways of Christ.

Following the beautiful ceremony in the chapel, sophomores Shannon Malone and Jaclyn Fraser continued the spreading of Christmas cheer in the study hall.  Shannon enticed the crowd with her presentation of “Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus,” and Jaclyn sent goosebumps through the room with her stunning performance of “O Holy Night.”
Congratulations to all who performed at such a spirited, humbling, perfectly-executed event that embodied everything great about the Christmas season.
